Fortem’s head office in Hitchin has been partnering with ELSA since 2015, focusing on educational workshops in the education sector.
ELSA envisions a world where every young person, regardless of their background or abilities, has the opportunity to develop into a confident and positive member of their community. They offer educational workshops and programs designed to bridge the gap between education and employment, equipping young people with essential personal and professional skills sought by employers today.
ELSA collaborates with local schools and colleges in Hertfordshire, organizing “get work ready” days with the support of local employers, helping young people connect with employers and explore post-school opportunities.
The partnership with Fortem ensures that young people are aware of various educational and career paths, such as apprenticeships, university, or work. Fortem supports ELSA by providing students with insights into the world of work, sharing career journeys, and delivering workshops and mock interviews from an employer’s perspective.
Since the scheme began, there have been many examples of support:
- In 2023, we delivered 105 volunteer hours. This is equivalent to a social value investment of £3,142.
- Workshops and mock interviews presented to 516 students.
Natalie Burridge, Social Value Manager said “ELSA’s commitment to guiding and supporting young people in our community is truly admirable. Their team tirelessly ensures that every young person is aware of opportunities available to them. ELSA’s dedication to empowering youth aligns perfectly with our own values, and we are proud to partner with an organization devoted to helping young people fulfill their potential.”
